Myspace, one of the leaders in social networking, has hit a record of over 50 million users. The problem with so many users is that creativity often runs low. Mass-produced Myspace layouts can be seen everywhere on Myspace- and finding an original profile has become something of a phenomenon.

The main problem with getting new Myspace profiles is that everyone else has already likely found and used one of the hundreds that are available all over the internet. The solution that many people seek comes in the form of Myspace layout generators. These Myspace layout generators allow users to create and edit profile colors, images, and even add special items such as glitter text. This allows those who have little experience with HTML or CSS create a professional looking profile, but it still takes much more work than simply copying and pasting a premade layout.

For those who are a little more adept in technical skills, editing the HTML and CSS directly will give the most unique Myspace layout available. CSS basically controls how certain things are displayed- which means text, links, font decorations, and much more. The HTML side of coding allows users to input images, control text styles and decorations that the CSS code specifies, and can even put videos or music players into a profile. This method takes a lot more time to edit and complete, but it will give the best overall unique look for a Myspace layout.

The number one giveaway that users have used a pre-made Myspace layout is the ads that are left behind from the Myspace layout websites. Most Myspace layout providers put ads and images in the layout code that link back to their website. Users can edit this out, usually by finding the link they leave behind, which will start with and then be followed by a link to a website. This is a common giveaway that a users profile is just one of the thousands that looks like every other un-creative profile.

Of course, creativity isnt always necessary. Having a creative Myspace layout is simply a means of communicating to viewers who you are and what you do. For businesses or organizations, having a creative layout is mandatory to running a successful Myspace business. For instance, record labels will definitely not want to use a branded layout- musicians would likely think that they arent serious enough to take the time and make their own. This can not only hurt business through lack of dedication, but also through loss of business to competitors that do have creative Myspace layout.

The Myspace layout is the next personal homepage of the current generation. Clearly, the 1990s brought a lot of innovation into the web design scene. Since then, the ease of using Myspace has made a new kind of personal homepage- one complete with a blog, music, pictures, and networking capabilities. The definition of a personal webpage means that the content is unique- not copied. Likewise, those who use Myspace to define themselves among friends will want to customize Myspace layouts as much as possible- as it is likely the majority of the other 50 million users of simply copied and pasted a Myspace layout for their own personal use.

Your pants are a bit tight, you can't seem to stop eating junk, and you're tired all of the time. It's time to get healthy and lose weight. Combined with a more sensible diet, an exercise bike can help you achieve the results you want.

Ugh, the Diet.

So many people go wrong here. Forget fad diets, forget starvation. Slow and steady wins the race. Try changing one thing about your diet. Limit yourself to one soda a day. Stop skipping meals. If you always clean your plate, start leaving one or two bites. A total change in diet is work. If you go for a radical change, you are setting yourself up for failure. You'll be surprised how well small changes work.

The Right Bike Determines Your Success

This is a critically important part. There are literally hundreds of exercise bikes available. You have to be honest with yourself to discover the one that will work best for you. If you talk yourself into some fantasy world where your exercise plan is going to work this time even though there's not

Have you ever considered the aspect to sell online and make money? Well maybe this is the most appropriate opportunity for you to engage in this kind of profitable activity. Apparently, you can now sell even the oldest junk you have hidden in your antique box. With the use of a few clicks and good marketing approach, you can definitely sell your entire collection of loose items over cyberspace

So how can I start squeezing money out of the internet? Practically, if you have items, old or used, you can sell them to people who might be interested. And the good thing about doing this is you can sell online and make money.

There are a lot of trade websites where you can register to sell your items. For example, you can use eBay.com. This website provides you with a free portal that you can access upon registration. Their easy to use system can be your handy tool to effectively advertise whatever items you may have.

If you are thinking of what specific items can be sold on eBay, well you can sell everything and anything. You can sell your old pink rubber shoes, free complimentary key chains from a trip to a museum, your grandfathers shirt, a Volkswagen beetle, or even your dot matrix printer.

Before you sell online and make money on eBay, you should first read the terms and conditions involved upon your registration. This is very important since actual trade is going to happen if your item is going to be sold and purchased by another user. Also, reading the terms and agreements of the website protects you from possible fraud and bad experiences when dealing with other users.

Although eBay is the most efficient way of making money online, you are not restricted to eBay. What if you are a natural born businessman who wants to tap the internet as a business mechanism? Of course, it is possible. You can create your very own online store!

An online store is one of the few other procedures to sell online and make money. Many other companies hold the internet as the most cost effective way to sell their products. But first, you should be able to consolidate all the necessary items and aspects that you will need in setting up an online store. You should have a list of the products to sell, a web portal, a financial instrument and good computer facilities such as servers and internet connection.

When your online store is up and running, you can expect to have various forms of sale transactions. There are some customers who can order online but will need to request for a specific store procedure. Some considerations are delivery of the product, after sales support, payment options and online general inquiries. You should anticipate all these types of concerns beforehand if you are going build your online store.

The experience to sell online is one of the great ways to do business electronically. Because of the relative ease in usage of internet facilities and a wide coverage of global connections, you will be on your way to earn high profits to sustain your daily spending needs.

How To Make Money

With affiliate programs, it really pays to work well
with others. Also known as referral programs,
affiliate programs are normally commission based
sales. You'll recommend a site to your visitors and
then pick up a percentage of any sale that those
visitors make. You'll benefit from the commission
and the merchant benefits from the sales.

If you already have a website set up, you can run
an affiliate program from it, or you can simply
build a site to promote a particular product or
service. As long as it brings in more cash than it
takes to build or run it, you'll be fine.

With any marketing program, you'll need to be careful
when you select an affiliate program. The benefit
of an affiliate program will give you another way
to make money from your users. Instead of selling
them a product, you simply send them to a partner
then take a cut of the profits.

Even though it may seem tempting to go for programs
with the highest commissions, those programs won't
pay you anything if your visitors don't buy them.

Below, you'll find some tips to help you select an
affiliate program that's right for you:
     1. Do not accept any less than 25% with
commission. You can find many programs with great
payment structures and high percentages of pay in
just about any field.
     2. Look for statistic pages that list the
number of click throughs, sales, and earnings so
you'll be able to see how you are doing.
     3. Always look for programs that offer a
wide variety of tools to put on your web site,
including banners, text links, and of course graphics.
     4. Find out hwo often you'll be paid and
be sure that the payment schedule meets with your
own expectations. Some programs will pay monthly,
while others will pay quarterly.
     5. Be sure that top level support is
included. If they can't answer your questions in
a quick and timely manner, you don't want to work
with them.

Once you learn what you are doing with affiliate
programs, you can make a lot of money. If you
are just starting out, you should always use common
sense and not rush into anything. As you become
more familiar with how things work, you'll be well
on your way to making a lot of money - and
enjoying making it. If you have to work hard, you'll
be glad you did.

An Interview with BRIAN KONRADT,
author of Freelance Poker Writing:
How to Make Money Writing for the Gaming Industry

Q: Tell us about your book.

BRIAN: Freelance Poker Writing is the first book showing freelance writers how to make money writing for the gaming industry.

Q: So its not just writing about poker?

BRIAN: No, its writing for the gaming industry in general. This includes all types of casino-style games. I focus more on poker in my book because it is the most popular game and writers make more money covering poker and the influences of poker.

Q: Tell us about your writing career.

BRIAN: Ive been a professional freelance writer since 1992. Ive written for many publications and companies in several industries. I am mainly skilled as a copywriter, since most of my clients were corporations and ad agencies who hired me to write their marketing materials. Ive been reporting on new trends in freelance writing since 1998. I dont do much freelance writing for clients anymore because in the last ten years I have branched out into other areas. You can read about my writing career at my website, .

Q: How did you come up with the idea for your book?

BRIAN: I became addicted to Texas Holdem when The Travel Channel began airing poker tournaments on TV. I then started playing poker for fun and became even more addicted. My poker addiction led me to research more about poker and the gaming industry. During my research I met freelance writers who were making money in this growth industry. I was interested in how they broke in and what it was like freelancing in this industry. I wanted to tell their story. This is what gave me the idea for my book.

Q: What was the writing process like?

BRIAN: It took me close to seven months to complete my book. I spent a lot of time researching the industry and interviewing writers and poker players. Because I run my own business during the day, I wrote this book in my free time.

Q: What obstacles did you face when writing your book?

BRIAN: Getting some of the information and facts correct was difficult, especially writing about the gaming laws. Interpretations of some of the gaming laws conflict with one another and dont make sense entirely, depending on who is interpreting the law.

Q: Who designed your book cover and website at FreelancePokerWriting.com?

BRIAN: I did. I love graphic design as much as I love writing. The two skills go hand-in-hand with me. I learned a long time ago if you offer both services to corporate clients writing and graphic design you can make a lot more money. The skills I had developed from my freelance career made writing and designing my book a lot easier. I also have two negative traits that work in my favor: I am a control freak and I have a (less than) zero attention span. I enjoy controlling all aspects of a project (writing, editing, designing, publishing, and marketing) as well as juggling several other projects throughout the day. I get bored very easily, so staying busy creatively is my cure.

Q: Can you make a living writing for poker magazines?

BRIAN: You can make some money, but dont quit your day job just yet. Poker magazines (the ones on the newsstand) dont pay high rates. Average rates are between .10 and .15 cents per word. Established freelance poker writers earn between .35 and .65 cents per word. Unless you are a writer with many clips and lots of experience, it is very competitive writing strictly for poker magazines. Poker trade magazines, on the other hand, do pay more and are less competitive, but this requires you to know the business sides of gaming.

Many writers look outside the scope of poker magazines to other magazines that cover topics related to poker and gaming; these include magazines on womens issues, mens issues, lifestyle, sports, betting, gaming, technology, travel, entertainment, law and so on. Many writers do make a living writing for these magazines. Pay rates are much higher, up to $1 per word and sometimes more.

Q: What other writing gigs exist for poker and gaming writers?

BRIAN: Tournament coverage, such as WSOP and WPT; SEO writing (writing search engine optimization copy) for businesses and affiliates; copywriting (writing for casinos, ad agencies, and gaming companies); ghostwriting books and ebooks; and, of course, magazine writing (which includes writing for newspapers, special publications, websites, and blogs).

Q: Which pays the most?

BRIAN: That depends. Covering a big tournament can make you plenty of money because you can generate many articles and news pieces with exclusive content and interviews. Plus, networking at tournaments is priceless. You can almost guarantee yourself youll walk away with more writing gigs. However, covering a large tournament requires a lot of time or, should I say, a lot of non-billable time.

Many writers find that SEO writing pays well. A client will ask a writer to write 20 articles at 300 words each on a topic (using certain keywords) for $10 per article. A skilled SEO writer can whip out these articles in less than three hours. Thats $66 an hour. Many SEO writing gigs are not for me because I write slowly and I prefer writing articles that entertain and educate readers.

Freelance copywriting in the gaming industry pays well. The average hourly rate is between $25 and $45 per hour with three or more years of related experience. Many freelance copywriters secure copywriting gigs from ad agencies in this industry.

The most popular writing gig, I would have to say, is freelance writing for poker-related publications, both offline and online. Poker and gaming cover so many topics, and many writers sell their articles to a variety of media outlets.

Q: How do writers break into this industry?

BRIAN: I answer this question extensively in my book, so I will be brief. Some writers start their own blogs. Other writers pitch an article idea to an editor. Yes, thats it. No real big secret. Of course, you have to know your stuff. You cant fake it till you make it in this industry.

Q: What is the most effective marketing strategy to publicize your writing services?

BRIAN: Online and offline social networking is the least costly and produces the best results to build a loyal readership and to build relationships with prospective clients. Online and offline social networking includes blogging; networking and schmoozing at poker events and tournaments; participating in discussion forums at poker websites and writing-related websites; joining a writers association to network with other members; creating a personality profile at MySpace.com; posting informative articles at AssociatedContent.com to generate free publicity for your services; and so on. There are so many variations of social networking these days, I cant list everything.

Q: What makes your book unique or what adds value?

BRIAN: Thats easy the entire premise of the book is unique. I feel what adds value is the interviews with freelance writers and poker players. Many of them are at the peak of their careers. They exemplify success in every imaginable way. I was very fortunate to pick their minds. All of the writers and poker players I interviewed were eager to share their experiences so they could help other writers to succeed.

Q: Whats next for you?

BRIAN: I am currently under contract to ghostwrite two books, one on small business funding, and the other on Internet marketing strategies. This should keep me extra busy for a while.

Thank you for your time.
